FJS was recorded between the ages 1;07 and 2;10 (2015-2016). Until the age of 5, she was a single child and has been growing up with her aunts and uncles around her, all of them at least 7 years older than her. In the mornings, when everyone left for school, including her teacher mum, we can see her in interaction with her grandma, mostly around the house. While in these recordings, her grandma uses Qaqet when talking to her, everyone else addresses her mainly in Tok Pisin. FJS is very confident and knows how to find her way in the middle of all the crowd of older relatives around her who all enjoy to care for her.
